Imagine standing on a mountain, feeling the wind against your face, and knowing that you’ll soon be soaring freely across the landscape. Paragliding from the mountains offers the perfect combination of adventure and freedom, with each flight delivering breathtaking views and an incredible sense of weightlessness.
To fly in mountainous terrain, you need to understand how weather and wind behave around mountains and valleys, and how this affects your flight. The theoretical part of the course therefore focuses on meteorology, flight conditions, and more advanced aerodynamics.
The practical part of the course places strong emphasis on teaching you various techniques for approach and landing. We practice different launch methods to ensure safe takeoffs. The training includes several safety exercises, such as learning how to perform “ears” and how to use the speed system. Together, we inspect your speed system and make adjustments if needed to ensure it’s easy to operate. During all high-altitude flights in the course, we maintain radio contact with you. You will also train for target landings, as this is a requirement for obtaining your license.
